The car was refinished in white, the seats were reupholstered in black vinyl, and an AmeriSport bulkhead reduction kit is installed. Additional equipment includes 17″ Campagnolo-style wheels, Hall Pantera low-rise headlights, GTS-style front and rear spoilers, a Holley Sniper EFI system, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, forged pistons, Aldan coilover shocks, power-assisted Wilwood disc brakes, Vintage Air climate control, a rearview camera, and a JVC digital media receiver. This Pantera is now offered with a Deluxe Marti Report, manufacturer’s literature, service records, tools, removed parts, and a Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name. The Pantera was designed by Carrozzeria Ghia and resulted from a collaboration between DeTomaso and the Ford Motor Company. The mid-engine, Ford-powered cars were assembled in Modena, Italy, and imported for sale at U.S. Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. This example left the assembly line in white (3) and is said to have been refinished under previous ownership. Exterior details include a polished front bumper protector, Hall Pantera low-rise headlights, LED fog lights, Vitaloni side mirrors, LED taillights and third brake light, and polished exhaust exits in addition to GTS-style front and rear spoilers and a Lusso-type fuel door behind. The front fender wheel openings have been rolled to accommodate wider front tires. A crack in the rear glass and blemishes in the paint are shown up close in the photo gallery below. Polished 17″ Campagnolo-style dual-slot alloy wheels are mounted with Sumitomo HTR tires measuring 245/40 in front and 315/35 in the rear. Additional equipment includes Aldan coilover shocks, an IPSCO front camber lock kit, a rear sway bar, and polyurethane suspension bushings. Power-assisted Wilwood disc brakes are installed at all four corners, and Brembo electronic parking brake calipers from a Tesla Model 3 are mounted on the rear rotors. Damage to one of the wheel lips is shown in the gallery. The bucket seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl and appointments include a Vintage air climate control system, power windows, an ATO fuse panel, LED overhead and courtesy lighting, and a JVC digital media receiver with USB compatibility. A rearview camera display is mounted to the windshield and the Holley Sniper EFI display is mounted to the dashboard. The bulkhead has been modified with an AmeriSport reduction kit, which required the relocation of the alternator. The seller reports the HVAC unit requires seasonal recharging with R134 refrigerant. The Fittipaldi steering wheel fronts Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer. Auxiliary gauges are mounted along the center stack. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 37k miles, approximately 15k of which were added under current ownership. The mid-mounted 351ci Cleveland V8 is said to have been overhauled in the late 1980s and is equipped with a Holley Sniper EFI system and an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and aluminum cylinder heads along with Erson roller rocker arms, tubular headers, chrome Hall Pantera valve covers, a high-flow billet water pump pulley, stainless-steel coolant pipes, a Ford Duraspark distributor, and a high-torque mini starter. The battery is concealed under a panel in the front compartment and an aluminum skid plate is installed under the fuel tank. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transaxle and SACC Restorations 1″ diameter CV axles. This 1972 DeTomaso Pantera is said to have spent decades stored inside a trailer prior to its purchase approximately seven years ago by the seller. Modifications and refurbishment work took place over the subsequent two years, and changes have included the installation of a 408ci stroker V8 that features FiTech electronic fuel injection. The five-speed ZF manual transaxle was overhauled, and the body was modified with metal fender flares and a Group 5-style front spoiler prior to a repaint in orange. Corbeau racing seats trimmed in black vinyl have been added, and other equipment includes adjustable coilover suspension, a Wilwood braking system with stainless-steel lines, nickel-plated anti-sway bars, polished 17″ wheels, and a MOMO steering wheel. This Pantera is now offered with service records, a dyno sheet, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name. Polished 17″ wheels are mounted with Michelin tires. The car is equipped with adjustable coilovers, and braking is handled by power-assisted Wilwood discs at each corner. The brake system also features stainless-steel lines, the steering rack has been overhauled, and the control arms have been seam-welded and powder coated. Nickel-plated anti-sway bars have been installed front and rear. The Corbeau racing seats are upholstered in black vinyl, and interior equipment includes a gated shifter, air conditioning, shoulder belts, an aftermarket shifter knob, and power windows. The headliner is a replacement, the car is not equipped with sun visors, no radio is fitted, and the cabin lighting does not work. The seller recommends refurbishing the door panels. The quick-release MOMO steering wheel frames a Veglia 200-mph speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for amperage, fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure are stationed in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 600 of which were added under current ownership. The tachometer does not work, although engine speed is displayed by the FiTech control unit mounted in the center stack. The 408ci stroker V8 features FiTech electronic fuel injection as well as a 10-quart baffled aluminum oil pan, stainless-steel coolant tubes, a Ron Davis aluminum radiator, a stainless-steel fuel tank, and ceramic-coated headers.
