- I work with the wife of the proprietor of ZR Auto in Calgary, which has a relationship with Prancing Horse in Montreal. She had known for some years that I had always wanted a GT5, so when Prancing Horse inported #9517 into Canada she let me know.
- Modifications
- Custom 3" Mind-Train exhaust, Larry Wu bi-xenon HID headlight conversion, Dynamat sound insulation, Vader window regulator kit, chassis stiffening/reinforcement & body seam welding, full bare-metal restoration in 2005. Upgrades to the factory engine include H beam rods, CNC ported Avenger stage 2 aluminum cylinder heads with stainless valves and titanium retainers, Edelbrock Victor Jr. aluminum intake, custom hydraulic roller cam and lifters, stud mount 7/16 roller rockers, forged crank, lightened aluminum flywheel, high torque starter, high volume aluminum water pump, and MSD ignition. The original Tecnomagnesio wheels were dye-tested, stress relieved, cosmetically repaired, powder coated and refinished to original appearance including decals. Other upgrades in 2005 included all-new door, trunk and deck lid weather seals, new carpet and leather throughout, new headliner, stainless steel fuel, brake and clutch flex lines, stainless steel coolant tubes, an aluminum clutch master cylinder, and a long-throw stainless steel clutch slave cylinder. The suspension was modified and tuned by Patrick Mical. Suspension upgrades include new Koni fully adjustable gas shocks, Hypercoil springs, urethane bushings, new wheel bearings and powder coating. A Ramlift hydraulic lift system allows both ends of the car to be lifted for rough roads or steep approach angles.
