Modifications
This 1974 DeTomaso Pantera was refurbished in the early 1990s by Pantera Performance of Aurora, Colorado, and it was acquired by the seller in 2020. Finished in yellow with black lower bodywork, the car is powered by a rebuilt 351ci Cleveland V8 that has been fitted with Haltech engine management and a fuel injection system with eight individual throttle bodies. It rides on Koni shocks paired with Hyperco springs and is further equipped with a five-speed manual transaxle, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and 17″ Etoile Type 455 wheels. On the inside, Recaro seats with Simpson five-point harnesses are accompanied by a Leccara steering wheel, air conditioning, and an Alpine CD stereo linked with a 12-disc changer. Additional appointments include driving lamps, mud flaps, black safety bumpers as well as an aluminum radiator, MSD ignition components, and four-into-one exhaust headers. This Pantera is offered with refurbishment records and an Indiana title in the seller and their spouse’s name that lists the vehicle make as Ford. Staggered-width 17″ Etoile Type 455 wheels are mounted with Dunlop SP Sport 8000 tires that measure 245/40 up front and 315/35 out back. The car rides on Koni shocks with Hyperco springs, and stopping power is provided by red-finished Wilwood Superlite calipers over discs at all four corners. The cabin has been outfitted with a pair of Recaro high-back bucket seats trimmed in black cloth and equipped with Simpson five-point harnesses. Woodgrain trim adorns the dashboard and center stack, the latter of which houses controls for the air conditioning system and power windows as well as an air-fuel ratio meter, a gated shifter, and an Alpine CD stereo linked with a trunk-mounted 12-disc CD changer. A set of DeTomaso-branded floor mats will accompany the car. The leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel fronts a Veglia Borletti 200-mph speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer along with VDO vacuum and temperature readouts. Additional VDO gauges monitoring amperage, fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure are mounted vertically within the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership. The 351ci V8 was rebuilt as part of the refurbishment and features Haltech engine management controlling a fuel injection system with eight individual throttle bodies. An aluminum radiator with dual electric fans has been fitted in the front trunk, and additional equipment includes DeTomaso-branded valve covers, MSD ignition components, and four-into-one exhaust headers. An oil change was last performed in 2023.
