Modifications: This 1973 DeTomaso Pantera was acquired from its original owner in 1978 by Jack Richards, the late owner of a company called JRM Inc. that manufactured aftermarket Pantera parts. The car was disassembled by Richards, and various assemblies were re-engineered including the suspension, braking, fueling, cooling, and electrical systems. In 2005 the car reportedly was acquired by a registrar for the Shelby American Automobile Club, and under his care the car was refinished in a Ford GT40–inspired burgundy. The cabin features a carbon-fiber GT40-style dashboard as well as black bucket seats, and the mid-mounted 351ci Cleveland V8 delivers power to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transaxle. The seller acquired the car in January 2013 and has since added approximately 2k miles. Service in the past two years reportedly included refreshing the cooling and hydraulic systems and also replacing the carburetor, gated shifter assembly, front rotors, coilovers, and more. This modified Pantera is now offered with engineering drawings, factory manuals, Campagnolo wheels, two car covers, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
