Modifications: This 1972 DeTomaso Pantera was built by Gas Monkey Garage for the 2016 Fast ‘n Loud episodes “Hot Off the Pantera“ and “Pan-tera’s Labyrinth“. Work involved repairing, customizing, and refinishing the body, installing RideTech coilovers, Wilwood six-piston calipers, and staggered Rotiform wheels, retrimming the interior, and repowering the car with a turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. Following the seller’s acquisition in 2018, the five-speed manual transaxle was overhauled, the turbochargers were rebuilt, and the fuel tank was replaced. This Pantera is now offered with service records and an Ohio title in the seller’s name. GMG sourced the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 from a 2013 F-150. The engine failed and was re-ringed following its installation by GMG, and GMG installed modified Borg Warner turbochargers from Full Race and fabricated a custom intake, intercooler plumbing, headers, and exhaust system. The serpentine system and motor mounts were also modified. Adam Browne at Revolution Auto tuned the motor, which is claimed to have produced 500 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels. The turbochargers were rebuilt in October 2024, at which time the fuel tank was replaced. The bellhousing was sourced from QuickTime, and the seller had the ZF five-speed manual transaxle rebuilt in 2020. GMG used a Hays clutch, a SACC Restoration billet shifter assembly and CV axle conversion, an RTR Racing high-flow direct injection fuel pump, and dual Aeromotive Phantom 340 pumps.
