History notes: Sold 6/10/20 for $212,712 https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/es20/the-european-sale-featuring-the-petitjean-collection/lots/r1021-1971-de-tomaso-mangusta/856649. This exceptional Mangusta was acquired by the current owner in 1978 from Germany, where it was delivered new. At that time, the car was exported from Germany to France and has remained there ever since. A photo of the car in the history files shows that it was once blue but is now finished in red. Records on file show that the car was serviced upon his purchase, which includes the purchase of four Goodyear Arriva tyres. Incredibly, these are still fitted to the car today. Its black interior appears to be original, and the car also retains its original tool roll and jack. A fantastic basis for a restoration or to be preserved as is, this is truly one of the most exciting cars in the Petitjean Collection. Please note that all of the vehicle in the Petitjean collection have been on static display for many years. As such, none of the vehicles are in running condition and all of them will require mechanical servicing to be made roadworthy.
